Overview

These terms govern your use of the Hall's Roofing website (hallsroofingexeter.co.uk) and the roofing work we carry out for you. By using this website or accepting a quote from us, you agree to these terms.

Hall's Roofing is the trading name of Hall's Roofing Contractors, a sole trader roofing contractor working across Exeter and East Devon. We quote for and carry out domestic and commercial roofing work including repairs, roof replacements, flat roofing, chimney work, and guttering.

How Our Quotes Work

The price ranges shown on this website and given by our chat assistant are indicative estimates only, based on typical job costs. They are not firm quotes and are not binding. We provide a firm quote after we have assessed your job, usually following a phone call and, where needed, a site visit.

Estimates may vary from our final quote depending on access, materials, and the condition of your roof. Our written quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote. Where work uncovers conditions that could not reasonably be seen at the time of quoting — for example rotten timber found after a roof is stripped — we will stop, explain the position, and agree any variation in price with you in writing before continuing.

Our Work and Guarantee

When you accept our quote, your contract is with Hall's Roofing. We are responsible for the work, for its quality, and for the guarantee we give on it. We carry public liability insurance and will provide a copy of our cover on request.

We guarantee our workmanship for the period set out in your quote — typically 12 months on repairs and longer on roof replacements and flat roofing. Manufacturer warranties on materials are passed to you where they apply. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by storms, impact, third-party work, or failure to maintain gutters and rainwater goods.

Work is carried out in accordance with the relevant Building Regulations. Where a job requires building control notification, listed building consent, or conservation area consent, we will tell you at quote stage and set out who is responsible for obtaining it.

Subcontractors

We may use subcontractors to carry out all or part of your job, for example at times of high demand or for specialist work such as scaffolding or leadwork. Where we do, your contract remains with Hall's Roofing, our guarantee still applies, and we remain responsible to you for the work. Cancellation

Where you agree to work with us away from our premises — at your home, by phone, or online — you have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start work within that period and then cancel, we may charge for the work completed up to that point. Emergency make-safe work requested for immediate attendance is carried out on that basis.

Payment

Payment terms are set out in your quote. For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit or staged payments against agreed milestones. Invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice.

This website is provided for information and to help you request a roofing quote. The chat assistant provides estimated prices based on typical costs; these are not binding quotes. All content on this website is owned by Hall's Roofing and may not be reproduced without permission.

Limitation of Liability

While we take care to keep the information on this website accurate, we do not guarantee that it is error-free, and we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on indicative estimates given by the chat assistant rather than on a written quote. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
